Rising to New Heights

The ways in which God leads are strange at times, but I am always amazed at where they take me. My impossible becomes God's possible. My failures become His victories. God can use anything to accomplish His purpose! I have come to be thankful for the trials that come my way. I learn so much from them, even though they are not pleasant. The better perspective I get on life, the more I realize how small my problems and worries are in the big picture. God's plan is so much bigger and infinitely better than mine! When I think my problems are too hard, I am reminded we only have a short time on this earth. Now is the time we have to show a hurting world God cares...God is different! Every day, things we take for granted may become tokens of His love for us. The sunshine that warms us, the wind that surrounds us, the rain that renews life, the flowers that are so beautiful...all are daily signs of His love. And while we yearn to be with Him all the more, we can be thankful for the opportunity He's giving us to live out His life, His love, His character. It's such a gift! I cannot begin to describe the blessings I have been given by following God's voice in my life...they are so wonderful I cannot explain them in words.

The Good Listener

Hark, what hearest thou?
A sound most unusual did ring,
A moment past now,
As if an angel on high did sing.
Like a clap of thunder,
Or a voice down under,
It shook the earth,
Its total worth.

And now, oh sorrow, it's fading away.
Perhaps if I remember it well,
It might come again, come another day;
And forever, always with me dwell!
Hark, hear thou now the sound?
It comes once more, how sweet the voice!
The light, the door, my heart rejoice!
As here I bow I've found,
My soul's one wish,
Was surely this...
The song, how sweet the sound!

As earth meets sea, and sea meets sky,
This song it lifts me, up on high.
Higher, yet higher, still I fly.
Here are drifting, clouds are nigh.
And deeper, stiller, clearer my eye can see,
As dearer, sweeter, nearer my God is He.

My world, it vanishes away.
For here is the glorious day.
My pain is gone, it's washed away.
Here is my home, and here I'll stay.

And like the ocean,
The earth in motion,
Continues on,
And yet,
It will be gone...
Forget.

But hark, what hearest thou?
'Tis the voice of God.
He's come to take you now...
You're the choice of God.

This is a neat poem I wrote for a school project. 1-31-12
